Overview:
Are you looking for a career change and have an interest in Procurement? The London Borough of Harrow is currently offering a permanent opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join its Corporate Procurement Team.

The main responsibility of the Procurement Officer will be to lead, shape, and steer the delivery of procurement projects from start to finish. This includes managing tendering projects, from initiation to contract award, implementation, and management, while ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with procurement rules and best practices.

The Procurement Officer will provide expert procurement advice and expertise to all stakeholders across the Council. They will ensure that all tenders are delivered compliantly, with a timely and professionally managed approach, and offer value-for-money, whether low or high-value tenders or support for complex high-value procurement projects.

About you:
The successful applicant will:

- Have a ‘Can do’ attitude - able to work positively in a team environment, develop effective partnerships and jointly work with both with internal and external stakeholder to deliver positive solutions.
- Be educated to a degree level or equivalent, ideally in a commercial discipline.
- Preferably be MCIPS qualified, or working toward a full membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS), or be prepared to obtain MCIPS Qualification
- Preferably have a minimum of 1-year hands on experience of delivering expert procurement support, advice and project managing a range of tendering projects. This would ideally be in a local government environment, however those with procurement experience from the private sector are also encouraged to apply.
- Have experience of procurement carried out in in any of the following categories:

- Adult Social Care
- Children’s Social Care
- Environmental Services
- Regenerations and Housing
- Corporate Service
