Pod Talent are exclusively working with a leading Global FMCG Business in Gloucester on an exciting new role, we are currently recruiting for a Head of Production & Operations to join their site. This is a newly created role, you will report into the SupplyChain Director and you will lead a team of 120-140 employees across Production. This is a site that consists of over 350 employees, it has regular investment but the main challenges they face at the moment are around operational performance, especially theirOEE. They are looking for a strong people leader who can coach and develop their team whilst setting clear priorities and implementing a continuous improvement culture.

As this role is new to the business it's a great opportunity to put your own stamp on things and implement a new operational strategy. This an opportunity to join a business that is a leading name in their respective industry, producing some very well-knownbrands, they have a culture centred around creativity, ambition and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- You will be responsible for a team of 90-100 production staff including area managers & supervisors, managing production activities and ensuring the team performs to the highest level.
- Develop a KPI Driven culture on the shop floor, targeting continuous improvement activities across key areas e.g. OEE.
- Ensures that internal/ external audit standards are integrated, and actions are up to date with required improvements.
- Initiates, coordinates and manages CAPEX and Continuous Improvement projects
- Work closely with other teams in the business e.g. Engineering to ensure that TPM culture is implemented cross functionally.
- Drive people development by setting out clear accountabilities and deliverables to enhance site performance.

Key Requirements:

- Strong operations management background from FMCG, will have several years of people management experience, ideally leading large teams.
- Will have proven experience in developing & leading high performing teams.
- Strong Continuous Improvement experience, exposure to TPM is advantageous.
- Strong strategic planning experience and highly analytical.
- Excellent communication skills, can manage stakeholders at all levels.
