**Purpose of the post**:
You will work within a current team of 6 lawyers (comprising 2 Senior Legal Advisers and 4 Legal Advisers) within the Legal Directorate of the Independent Monitoring Authority, reporting to the IMA General Counsel.
The IMA Legal Directorate provide legal advice to the Board, Executive Team, Operational Delivery Directorate and Governance Corporate Services Directorate of the IMA. The Legal Directorate also is responsible for conducting all litigation on behalf of the IMA, scrutinising the legislative framework across the UK and Gibraltar, contribute to external communications to promote awareness of the IMA and the rights of EU and EEA EFTA citizens and provide training and guidance to colleagues across the IMA.
Your primary role will be to contribute to the successful delivery of legal services to IMA colleagues and the Board. You can expect to assist in all aspects of the IMA’s work, including in relation to inquiries, litigation, complaints in addition to contribution to the development of training materials and guidance. You will have the full support of all colleagues both from within the Legal Directorate and from colleagues across the IMA.
You will have exposure to working with the Directors and the Litigation Panel which takes decisions on the IMA’s litigation.

The role is likely to consist of experience which is qualifying work experience for the purposes of the Solicitors’ Regulatory Authority’s solicitors qualifying examination route.
