We're looking for caring and compassionate Strategy Co-Ordinator to join us to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our services are co-funded by the Police and the NHS.

The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for forensic and acute health needs and requirements.

As a Strategy Co-Ordinator, you'll receive full training and support, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.

**This is a part-time vacancy of 8 hours per week, which is to be worked between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (minimum 4 hours per shift).**

The Strategy Co-Ordinator will attend strategy meetings with both the police and social care, and be able to advise with the aid of strict criteria the best route for the child or young person.

The role will also involve carrying out the role of a crisis worker to support forensic examinations.

This role will include attendance at all strategy meetings with the Police and Social Care.

The crisis worker element of the role will include:

- providing telephone information and support.
- assisting in the administration and management process of an adult or child and their family visiting the centre, including preparing the patient and assisting in the collecting of forensic evidence.
- ensuring all actions undertaken are consistent with patients' wishes.
- undertaking risk assessments in relation to the post and working environment to include specific risks to patients and visitors.
- supporting use of the colposcope and medical care, providing advocacy support for the patient and/or family and ensuring a patient centred service.
- a high standard of DNA decontamination between forensic cases.
- providing confidential and non-judgemental support, enabling the patient to regain control and self-esteem.
- liaising with other voluntary and statutory agencies in meeting other health and psychological needs of the patients.

**Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel will be a requirement of the role.**

**Essential Skills**:

- IT literate
- Basic administration skills
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality

**Desired Skills**:

- Experience of working and understanding of individuals who may have complex needs.
- Experience of working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault/ violence.
- Project development and outreach.
- Training and presentation skills.
