Hybrid role based at home with frequent travel to the Homes
Reports to the Director of Quality and Care
As our Dementia Lead, you will drive and support the delivery of our Dementia Strategy, aligning activity with our corporate objectives and quality agenda. Inspiring colleagues throughout the organisation to deliver outstanding resident outcomes for those living with dementia.
You will lead on the development and implementation of our new Dementia Promise, delivering training and coaching to our dementia specialists of the future, building and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, raising the profile of Orchard and our Dementia Strategy.
We operate four sector leading Dementia ‘Reconnect’ communities and you will be instrumental in analysing their effectiveness, ensure continued development and have an opportunity to expand our offering across more of our portfolio. Creating a culture of continuous improvement, learning and transparency and identifying new and innovative dementia care practices, providing opportunities to all to develop their professional skills and knowledge.
**About you**:
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach and support others. You will be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in dementia care along with a teaching or mentoring qualification e.g., Level 3 award in Education & Training or equivalent.
The role requires the post holder to be flexible and to travel regularly across the regions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting and evaluating the dementia strategy ensuring it delivers outstanding resident outcomes in line with our quality agenda and corporate objectives.
2. Lead on the development and implementation of our Dementia Promise, providing coaching, training and support whilst evaluating impact.
3. Building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships to raise the profile of Orchard Care Homes and our dementia strategy. Key stakeholders could be residents, families, Local authority, and integrated care teams and CQC.
4. Identify new and innovative dementia care practices and provide learning opportunities to all colleagues with outstanding residents outcomes at the forefront
5. Analysing the effectiveness of our reconnect communities with a view to replicating the model in different homes across the group
6. Creating a culture of continuous improvement, learning and transparency
7. Act as a source of knowledge and expertise regarding dementia care and outcomes for the organisation
8. Providing monthly management information in relation to progress of our dementia strategy and the impact on our residents and the care they receive.
9. Ensuring that all Dementia training is appropriately evaluated, and training materials and delivery are reviewed where appropriate, considering feedback from team members and impact data.
10. Supporting care home colleagues to develop specific support plans that are produced with life history and individualism at the core.
