London, United Kingdom Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity Full time

**Philanthropy Executive**

**Role Overview**

Are you passionate about high value fundraising, looking to take the next step in your fundraising career? Are you great at building and nurturing relationships and ambitious to learn and develop?

Are you ready for the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children at one of the most exciting times in GOSH Charity’s history? Then this is the role for you.

As a Philanthropy Executive you will play an integral role in the work of the Philanthropy team, supporting high value donor engagement and stewardship, and managing your own portfolio of current and prospective supporters.

We are recruiting for two Philanthropy Executives, one to support our medical research fundraising and one to support fundraising through the Tick Tock Club, the charity’s flagship membership giving programme.

**About the Team**

The Philanthropy Executive sits within the Philanthropy team - part of the Relationship Fundraising division within the wider Fundraising Directorate. The team focuses on securing gifts from high net-worth individuals and charitable foundations and manages a substantial high value programme. The current team of 13, including a proactive prospect research function, is set to grow to 18+ in order to deliver an ambitious new fundraising strategy. Each Philanthropy Executive will sit within a sub-team of two fundraisers - a Philanthropy Manager and your role - led by a Senior Philanthropy Manager.

**About You**

You are an experienced and creative relationship manager with excellent communication skills. You are a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial and proactive approach, and experience in shaping fundraising initiatives or similar projects effectively in partnership with key stakeholders. You are a positive team player with a professional, solution focused approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good collaborative working relationships
- Fundraising experience either in your role or as a volunteer
- Proven written and verbal communications skills
- Strong organisational skills with a professional and considered approach with great attention to detail.

**About the Charity**

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, over 600 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children - and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Without donations, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Our staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.

Recently awarded with a ‘Best Companies 2-star accreditation' and placed number 17 on the 2019 Sunday Times Best 100 Not-for-Profit Companies list - we offer a range of attractive benefits including; a flexible approach to working, 30 days holiday, life assurance, enhanced employer pension contributions, and a discounted season ticket loan.

**Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion**

We recognise that people from some backgrounds are under-represented in our workforce and across the wider Charity sector. In April 2021 we launched our ambitious three-year EDI strategy committing to becoming a more inclusive workforce, reflecting the diverse communities that we work with and for and demonstrating this through all our areas of work.

Further information on our EDI strategy can be found here: GOSH Charity EDI Strategy
