Graphic Designer

Maker&Son is seeking a **Senior Graphic Designer** capable of working on our very high level customer magazine publication.

We are a small family run business based in the UK and we are growing fast as such, we need a highly motivated creative individual to join and help us tell our fabulous story. We are based in Balcombe (40 minutes from London by train, 20 minutes from Brighton) and we will need you to be based in our offices a few days a week.

You will play an integral role within our Brand Marketing team, being responsible for driving the brands visual and written storytelling across print and digital, allowing us to build brand awareness and trust through graphic design and the way we present our products to our customers. This is a wonderful role for someone with passion and expertise in editorial and print design, this is a very diverse and interesting role which will require a great deal of flexibility, organisation and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

You will have knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, with strengths in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and interest to grow and learn within our team.

You will be experienced in working within and alongside a busy team with any tasks necessary whilst being able to prioritise activities. You will need to be a very organised person who is calm under pressure. You will need to have a keen interest in sustainability, design, innovation and storytelling, as well as an awareness of brand-building and the many aspects of how design communicates with customers. The ability to understand Maker&Son audiences and interact with a wide set of platforms will be important to this role.

**Role responsibilities will include**:

- Knowledge of producing large scale print rungs and working with printers
- Design of printed materials - magazine, sales support brochures
- Design and management of digital catalogues and automations to support pricing updates
- Creating and adapting materials for use in multiple regions
- Evaluating marketing trends and analysing design
- Brainstorming ideas
- Ensuring designs accurately reflect brand, ethos and values
- Identifying suitable materials and conducting feasibility studies
- Creating and presenting mock-ups to stakeholders
- Working in a flexible way as part of a creative team
- Utilising your keen and trained eye for detail, by ensuring that any content released is without errors
- Drive the creation and execution of commercial materials
- Being able to work with the team in the formulation of ideas

**Skills and experience**

Essential:

- Bachelors degree in graphic design, industrial design, art, or a similar field.
- Marketing experience would be preferable.
- Proven experience working with graphic design.
- Natural talent for design and a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with sustainable materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be a keen learner; willing to try and learn new skills
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Have an interest in aesthetics
- a willingness to work independently, with an interest in developing your own skills and knowledge
- a positive can-do attitude and excellent work ethic
