Permanent | Full-time | Proposed interview date - Tuesday 15th July 2025
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Team at Sheffield Children's. We're looking for a motivated, compassionate person to support children with coordination difficulties, autism, and physical disabilities in our Special Schools teams.
You'll work within experienced, supportive, and forward-thinking teams, gaining valuable skills and professional growth through child-centred, multidisciplinary care.
You'll deliver rehabilitation programmes using play, physical activity, and positioning to help children and young people with complex needs improve their function, independence, and participation in everyday life. You'll manage a personal caseload and help develop tailored therapy plans in collaboration with a registered AHP.
**What you'll bring**:
Knowledge of therapeutic procedures gained through a combination of formal training, short courses, and experience to Diploma Level 5 or equivalent or Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or a Level 5 Apprenticeship
Experience in health or social care and delivering therapy programmes
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs
Reporting into the Team Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Deliver tailored therapy and rehabilitation programmes using play, positioning, and physical activity
Promote the health and wellbeing of children and young people using evidence-based practices
Support treatment planning and review in partnership with registered professionals
Monitor and record outcomes, contributing to high-quality care
Work collaboratively within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team
**At Sheffield Children’s, our purpose is clear**: to provide healthier futures for children and young people. Our three strategic aims are Outstanding Patient Care, Brilliant Place to Work, and Leaders in Children’s Health.
We work with partners across local, regional, and national levels to deliver physical and mental healthcare in both acute and community settings. Many of our clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise.
We’re proud that 73% of colleagues would recommend Sheffield Children’s as a place to work, placing us among the top five NHS trusts in England — and the top-ranked trust in the North East and Yorkshire — in the latest NHS Staff Survey.
Our nearly 4,000 colleagues bring our CARE values — Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence — to life every day, creating a kind, welcoming environment where patients and families feel safe and supported.
As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2026, we’re excited to keep building our leadership in children's health, improve experiences for patients and staff, and focus on our communities and population health.
We also offer excellent benefits to support your wellbeing, with generous annual leave and pension schemes, health and wellbeing programmes, and exclusive discounts — helping you thrive at work and beyond.
