**The key duties of this Financial Accountant (VAT) role are as follows**:

- Play a leading role in all things tax and VAT for the charity, liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to provide sound advice and guidance.
- Take the lead in the review of existing VAT and tax procedures, ensuring everything is fit-for-purpose and developing new processes for any identified system gaps.
- Full responsibility for preparing VAT returns for submissions to HMRC on a quarterly basis.
- Act as the key liaison with HMRC and manage the relationships with the external Advisors.
- Provide critical support in the negotiation of new contracts, ensuring all tax implications have been accounted for.
- Compile the statutory accounts for the pension scheme of one of the charity’s subsidiaries.
- Review all payroll calculations prior to staff payment, ensuring any changes have been updated on the system.
- Set up new users on the finance system and produce quarterly reports or the organisation’s investment portfolio.

This is a brilliant role for a proactive finance professional who has experience preparing VAT returns and is now looking to diversify their experience in a more tax focused role. The role boasts genuine responsibility from day one and offers a unique opportunityto work for one of the biggest attractions in the UK This role will officially be based in the head office in London, but hybrid working arrangements will be on offer.
- Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
- Strong knowledge of VAT, including the preparation of returns.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and complex formulas).
- Ideally, a background working in the charity sect, but this is by no means essential.
- Clear, effective communication skills.
