A well-known Charitable organisation based in Central London is looking for a Tax & VAT Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.This role offers hybrid working (3 days per week working in the offices, 2 from home).Reporting to the Tax Finance Managerand working in a small Tax team, the Tax & VAT Accountant will:

- Preparing VAT returns for the Museum and supervise the VAT return preparation of all subsidiary entities
- Reviewing procedures and undertaking analysis to ensure that the organisation and all entities for which the department provides finance services are compliant with HMRC guidance and legislation
- Identifying areas of tax risk for the group and managing and implementing plans and procedures to mitigate and minimise the impact of these risks.
- Keeping abreast of HMRC changes and advising the stakeholders on the implications and on recommended actions. Presenting complex and technical information clearly to others within the department and the wider organisation
- Administration of the organisations financial systems and maintenance of the accuracy and integrity of the data
- Supporting theSenior Finance Assistant in managing the monthly payroll by checking prior months to current months per pay element, leavers, starters, overtime, and fee paid and for pay awards.

This role would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant who possesses excellent technical knowledge in VAT and Tax Accounting, including preparation of VAT returns and complex Tax issues.It would be beneficial if you also have a good understanding ofcharity tax laws although this is not a prerequisite.
