**Job summary**:
This is a key role working across our central business operations, in particular finance and recruitment, to aid the smooth running of the Government Grants Management Function, supporting successful delivery against our aims and objectives.
We are looking for a well organised, delivery focused individual with the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment. This is a varied role which will require you to manage your time effectively, sometimes having to reprioritise at short notice.
The role is based at our York office. The Cabinet Office currently operates a hybrid working policy, with an average of 40 - 60% of working time to be spent in your office location. On occasion you may be required to attend our other offices in London and Glasgow, for example, to attend in-person team meetings.
**Job description**:
This EO role sits within the Management Hub, a team responsible for operational services (such as finance, recruitment and HR), governance, communications, and engagement for the Function. We work diligently to provide high quality services and support to all in the team in accordance with Cabinet Office policy and processes, and regulatory obligations.
The post holder will report into the HEO Operations and Reporting Analyst who will provide training and support and serve as an escalation point for more complex queries.
Play an active role in the recruitment of Civil Servants into the team, managing the end to end process from the creation of adverts on Civil Service Jobs, to organising interviews and through to security clearances and the onboarding of new starters (and off boarding of leavers).
Be the Function’s Single Point Of Contact with the Cabinet Office Estates team, engaging to understand planned buildings and locations changes that may impact the team and recommending actions so we are able to respond promptly and with limited business interruption. On a more practical note they will organise building inductions and government passes for new joiners, ordering IT and helping them settle in. This includes making sure new joiners are properly inducted into both the Function and Cabinet Office.
Maintain our Digital Libraries, ensuring that key pieces of documentation are correctly saved and performing quarterly assessments to ensure we remain compliant with the law and with Cabinet Office Policy, and providing support to other operations activities as required.
Be responsible for the maintenance, continuous improvement and promotion of the team’s intranet, the central repository for information, guidance and internal communications.
Support the Finance lead and Deputy Directors to manage expenditure and ensure spending remains within allocated budgets, supporting the effective management of and compliance with internal financial processes, processing Purchase Orders and receipting.
