- Supporting the coordination of a team of casual staff.
- Supporting students to access the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and activities related to DSA and equivalent support for those not eligible for external funding.
- Meeting with students as part of the Student Hub offer to provide advice on how to access disabled student support.
- Supporting the Inclusive Learning volunteer programme. This may include recruiting, training and overseeing student volunteers to support new and current students who may benefit from peer support.
- Promoting and developing new initiatives and student support resources on appropriate communications channels.
- Supporting activities which relate to the transition of first year disabled students into university.
- Have an oversight of the provision of Assistive Technology that is available to students across the university and accessible remotely.
- Liaising with external providers of support.
- Other projects as required through identifying students’ needs.
The role will combine both project work as well as the opportunity to work with students. You will work as part of our Student Disability and Inclusion team and will need to build relationships effectively with a range of internal and external partners.
- Strong coordinating and administrative skills.
- Problem solving skills to introduce new ways of working.
- Experience of managing a fluctuating and often demanding workload.
