**Salary**: Circa £20,800 per annum pro rata including on call allowance, which equates to £10,118
**Contract/Hours**: Permanent, part-time (working 18 hours a week) - usually 3 shifts covering days, evenings and every other weekend

**About the Role**:
Kingfishers provides supported housing/Independent Living to young adults (18-25 years) with a Learning Disability and some mental health difficulties, the placement is for 2 years with the aim of young people living in their own tenancies at the end oftheir time with us.
As part of an incredibly supportive, friendly and compassionate team, you'll teach young people how to manage a tenancy, develop skills such as budgeting, cleaning, cooking, shopping, independent travel and understanding health and safety. You'll also guidethem through safer relationships, looking after their health and employability prospects so that they are equipped for living as independently as possible at the end of their time at Kingfishers. Not only this, but you'll also support their move on to thenext chapter of their lives.
As a Young Persons Worker / Assistant Residential Worker you'll be:
- Providing a high-quality service to young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.
- Delivering interventions to young people on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting, with appropriate direction.
- Maintaining effective working relationships to encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes.
- Being alert to safeguarding issues in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Attending and actively participate in relevant multi-agency meetings.
- Providing on call support to young people overnight, dealing with any emergencies that may occur.
- Supported by a well-established and consistent leadership team that offers regular supervision and guidance as well as a thorough induction.
**What You'll Bring**:
Our job description for the Young Persons Worker / Assistant Residential Worker outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are:
- The option of completing Diploma Level 2 or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a health and social care setting with adults ideally with adults, learning disability and mental health but not essential. Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.
- Experience of preparing clear and concise file notes and inputting information into office systems.
- The ability to engage and work with children, young people and their families, demonstrating a range of communication skills i.e. written, verbal applied in a variety of formats and situations.
- The ability to identify and assess individual needs.
