Associate Practitioner Blood Sciences

We are currently looking for a fixed term (6 months) band 4 Associate Practitioner. The post holder will contribute to providing a professional clinical laboratory service by working in the Blood Sciences Department and undertake duties to support Scientific Staff in the preparation and analysis of biological samples. This will be achieved by carrying out clinical, technical or scientific tasks under supervision.
The post holder will assist in the analysis patient samples, routine analyser maintenance procedures, instrument calibration and quality control.
To assist in training and development of Associate Practitioners (Associate Healthcare Scientists), Medical Laboratory Assistants (Assistant Healthcare Scientists) and other appropriate trainees when required.

Participation in the out of hours service is an essential requirement of the post. The out of hours service is provided over 24/7, 365 days.
You will need to hold a level 4 Science Qualification (such as HNC in a Science, or IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 2), have a demonstrable knowledge of Healthcare Science duties, demonstrate a commitment to CPD, have excellent interpersonal and time-management skills.
This post is fixed term for 6 months due to meet the needs of the service
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
