**Senior Media Officer - London - Contract - Negotiable Salary £££** ARM is actively seeking a Senior Media Officer to work on a contract basis for client based in London. The Senior Media Officer will be responsible for researching compelling stories about a range of services and initiatives to generate positive coverage. **Responsibilities**: - To develop story ideas to promote the client for print, broadcast and digital media, and to sell stories to journalists with accuracy, imagination and conviction to secure positive coverage for the client. - To respond effectively to enquiries from print, broadcast and digital media and ensure that the clients position is credible and effectively communicated. - To build and maintain close links with national, regional, trade and local media and develop contacts within specialist areas of activity. - To demonstrate creativity in using media to generate interest in and encourage discussion about key client projects. **Requirements**: - Demonstrable understanding of local government and the context in which it operates. - Good knowledge of the media, and how to generate interest in a local government story. - Experience of developing positive relationships with journalists. - Ability to communicate complex/technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience in an inspiring way. - Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex issues in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
