Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will be responsible for characterisation and further refinement of novel genetic models developed in our laboratory. In particular, the post-doctoral research fellow will address the mechanisms by which germline or somatic mutations in oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes lead to differential chromosomal and genetic instability within primary prostate epithelium. They will use gene overexpression, gene knockdown and Human Artificial Chromosome (HAC) experimental approaches. The project will utilize novel genetic models developed within our laboratory, wherein the impact of specific genetic changes, including DDR mutations, is explored using Tert-immortalized primary cell cultures.

The project is supported by the CRUK Manchester RadNet Unit and a BBSRC Bioengineering grant and the post will be available for a duration of 2 years with an imminent start date.
