Accounts Assistant/legal Cashier

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to assist the Accounts Manager in providing a competent, accurate and efficient accounts service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Cashiering, including banking, raising cheques, processing and transmitting CHAPS/BACS and Faster Payments.
- Completion of Office and Client bank account reconciliations.
- Client to Office transfers.
- Assist with the raising of Client bills and Fee Earner time allocation.
- Distribution and posting of Petty Cash.
- To ensure that appropriate, accurate ledgers and records are kept of all receipts, payments and other transactions and they are always kept up to date.
- Assist all staff and clients with general accounts enquiries.
- Assist with Debt recovery.
- Receive and check supplier invoices and prepare appropriate payments for authorisation using a variety of methods to ensure payments are made before deadlines.
- Assist the Accounts Manager in the production of month end reports together with other reports as required by the Equity Partners.
- Assisting with answering the telephones during busy periods and occasional reception cover.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, has good attention to detail, can meet tight deadlines and work under pressure, is a good team player and has a flexible approach and willingness to learn. We are looking for someone who is computer literate. Previous experience of Excel is desirable but not essential.
**Salary**: £20,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
