We are seeking an Assistant Clinical Roles Trainer to join our team at Musgrove Park Hospital. Working with clinical departments, universities and the recruitment team, you will be providing staff with training to enable them to safely complete their roles and develop their skills and careers.
This role will include working across learning and development to assist in the delivery of a wide range of clinical skills training including NEWS 2, sepsis, venepuncture, cannulation, wound care, catheter care and more.

Providing established and supported clinical skills training in a class room / virtual or clinical environment.
Providing a professional role model for all colleagues attending inductions and training.
Assessing and delivering developmental feedback to learners and their departments.
Guiding new health care support workers through completion of their Care certificate.

1. Job Purpose
**To work under the supervision of the curriculum manager to**:
- Participate in the delivery of patient care with identified learners (learners identified as Apprentices, Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Assistant Practitioners, Trainee Nursing Associates, Nursing Associates, EU and non EU nurses awaiting NMC registration
- Deliver established teaching topics to individuals/groups of learners in various settings: ward / classroom / virtual
- Contribute towards ward/department organization
- Assisting in the induction, supervision, and training of: Healthcare Support Workers at Band 2 & 3s, student Assistant Practitioners & TNA’s and student nurses with the training of the National Early Warning Scoring system (NEWS), fluid balance, vital signs, SBAR and Sepsis training and delivery of patient care.
- Assess within established frameworks (eg Care Certificate)
**Responsibilities**:
Communication & Working Relationships
- Develop communication skills to convey complex and sensitive information effectively to learners, managers, patients, carers and other staff, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events
- Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their carers
- Communicate Clinical skills training as directed within policy/protocol
- Respond appropriately to queries, take phone messages and pass on written and verbal information to patients/ learners or teams.
- Provide relevant information to learners, managers, patients, and colleagues
- Complete documentation accurately and contribute to reports of patients’ activity and progress, recognizing that the qualified nurse/midwife has personal accountability for entries to patient records made by others under their supervision
- Give developmental feedback on patient care and activities to relevant healthcare professionals
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Attend regular team meetings
Planning & Organization
- Plans own workload in conjunction with service needs and under guidance from the service leads in learning and development.
- Contribute to care planning and review and reporting all the outcomes and any concerns of all patient care duties personally undertaken and to do this clearly and promptly to the registered Nurse, Midwife or Therapist, documenting as req
