Student Projects Officer

**Key Duties**
- Provide professional advice and guidance on student engagement, voice, and partnership processes and procedures to internal and external stakeholders that will have institutional-wide impacts using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate.
- Develop and enhance the student employment opportunities within the Learning and Teaching Academy, providing bespoke support for departments to embed students within their practice.
- Create a coordinated and streamlined approach for student employment within the Learning and Teaching Academy.
- Manage, maintain, and develop student employment schemes to provide effective student engagement across the institution which aligns to strategic objectives, and undertake enhancement of the schemes on an annual basis.
- Manage students employed through these schemes, providing direction, coordination, training & development, and guidance to enable effective partnership and engagement in strategic university projects.
- Maintain oversight of student employment scheme projects and establish, coordinate, and deliver effective communications through the lifecycle of projects with both staff and students.
- Ensure that the provision of student engagement resources and support, including student employment schemes, is delivered to the institution proactively, changing the delivery according to customer requirements.
- Responsible for the remuneration and budgets of the student employment schemes.
- Lead alongside the Student Engagement Manager in developing resources and recommendations for continual enhancements for Student Staff Panels.
- Work in collaboration with the Students’ Union to plan and deliver specific projects focused on student partnership and student representation, co-ordinating and supervising project teams as needed.
- Develop and deliver training within student engagement, partnership, and voice, proactively and on request as required by Schools/Departments or other key stakeholders.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department which includes, but is not limited to, data gathering, input and analysis, project and process management, conducting research, and dissemination of resources and materials.
- Instruct and guide other employees across the University within student engagement and partnership, particularly through the student employment schemes, creation of CPD, and other training and guidance resources.

**Qualifications and Education**
- Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Substantial experience of working with students (or relevant transferable experience)
- Able to demonstrate professional knowledge within a student experience discipline to give advice and guidance to internal and external customers
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining new processes and procedures
**Customer Service, Communication and Team Working**
- Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
- Evidence of ability to explore customers’ needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered
- Evidence of ability to develop networks with key stakeholders in order to contribute to long term developments
**Planning, Analysis and Problem solving**
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose both practical and innovative solutions and resolving problems with range of potential outcomes
- Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within student engagement, student voice, and student partnership
- Evidence of ability to undertake and deliver specific projects and supervise short term project teams
**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of working in a Higher Education environment
- Fluency in Welsh, written and oral
