**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**NURSERY PRACTITIONER**

Responsible to Team Leader/Managers.

**Scope**

1.1 To assist the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the room, as part of a team.

1.2 To work alongside Nursery Assistants.

1.3 To ensure the well being and safety of children.

1.4 To liaise with parents on a day-to-day basis.

**Key Results Area**

2.1 Key Result Area: Child Development

To encourage children to develop and reach new learning milestones.

To provide first hand experiences and be sensitive to the needs of the children.

To contribute to language development.

To make full use of the environment and to enable the child to grow in the environment.

To keep the environment ordered and varied whilst maintaining stock levels.

To plan activities, make suggestions and contribute to child development plans.

To develop relationships with parents/carers of children.

To work as a team member and ensure the delivery of quality services according to procedures.

**2.2 Key Result Area: Room Management**

To assist in the overall day-to-day management of a nominated room.

To assist in the collating and recording of all paper work, including record keeping and planning etc within the nominated room.

Handling and recording of cash and cheques following Nursery procedures.

Ensuring register is kept up to date.

To assist with the instruction and supervision of students.

To assist the Team Leader in ensuring that the Nursery is open and ready to accept children at 8:00 am, depending on shift pattern.

To assist the Team Leader in ensuring the security/cleanliness/tidiness of the Nursery, when closing at 6.00 pm, depending on shift pattern.

To work extra hours as required to ensure staffing ratios are maintained.

**2.3 Key Result Area: Customer Care**

To assist Managers/Team Leaders with any concerns parents may have.

To complete all forms necessary for DBS clearance. ** **Training*

You will be required to attend all mandatory and statutory training.

The Nursery will expect/encourage you to keep up to date with relevant training, practices and procedures.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £6.83-£9.72 per hour

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
