We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced ESG consultant, specialising in ESG strategy and reporting, to join our growing team in London. Your role will be to support the growth of our ESG Strategy and Reporting service, with a particular focus on Sustainable Investment Advisory.
You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of high-profile clients across a range of sectors, including property, infrastructure, science, industry, technology, energy, water and arts & culture.

When working with clients, you will have the benefit of access to a huge breadth of specialists across Arup, including carbon and climate risk specialists, ecologists, economists, behavioural psychologists, futurists, designers, engineers, digital and communication specialists and many more. This will enable you to drive real change in the organisations you work with.

Whilst based in London, this role also involves integrated working with other Arup offices, both within the UK and globally. When working with global clients, this will enable you to draw on Arup’s local expertise, tailored to a client’s portfolio.

Typical work will involve supporting on projects delivering horizon scanning, scoping, materiality assessment, objective, target and KPI setting, strategy development, strategy implementation, monitoring and assessment, reporting and feedback and/or investor disclosure. There is also opportunity to support development of growth areas such as circular economy and climate justice strategy.

You will have the opportunity to gain project management experience, supporting your Project Manager in the coordination of project teams, programme and deliverables. You will also have the opportunity to gain skills in resource management, marketing and business development activities.

It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with our clients. You will be a self-motivated, proactive, realistic and collaborative person that strives to deliver solutions of the highest quality and exhibits an excellent attention to detail: your actions should inspire and instil confidence in clients, partners and peers alike.

**Essential Skills and Knowledge**

You will be a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual with existing environmental / sustainability consultancy experience, able to work on your own initiative. You will have knowledge, or first-hand experience, in some or all of the following areas:

- Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies/management systems for organisations/sectors.
- Experience developing ESG/sustainability reports in accordance with recognised standards
- Developing project management skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and schemes including:

- EU Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)
- Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD)
- Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
- GRESB, CDP
- EMS ISO 14001.

**Desirable skills and knowledge**:

- Experience in relevant sectors, particularly the property, infrastructure, retail and finance sectors.
- Background in sustainable finance or economics.

**Qualifications**:

- Education to degree level but preferably a Masters degree.
- Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent.
