Automotive Electrics Production Supervisor

VFS is well established and highly regarded Light Commercial Vehicle convertor with with an extensive and loyal database of customers. We are looking to appoint a person experienced in automotive electrics to ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day running of the Electrics & Projects bays at our plant in Eastleigh.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Assisting the Production Superintendent and Workshop Manager to ensure that production is always run to maximum efficiency and optimum output rates are achieved.
- Assisting in the creation of production schedules and ensuring that they are adhered to by organising workflows, setting and communicating daily/weekly/monthly objectives to Team Leaders.
- Ensuring that any variations to schedule are communicated in an effective and timely manner.
- Submitting reports on performance and progress, identifying any areas that are not meeting KPI targets, analysing the issues and discussing and implementing solutions.
- Monitoring all production operations, ensuring output is in line with specifications and requirements.
- Supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements.
- Working positively with other departments to ensure production goals can be met.
- Working in conjunction with the Maintenance team to ensure that the regular maintenance schedule is completed.
- Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring housekeeping standards and safe working practices are being adhered to.
- Dealing with any technical queries and providing support, advice, and technical expertise to team members.
- Assisting with the selection and training of new employees and ensuring that existing employees receive appropriate training and development.
- Managing and motivating the team, ensuring that any employee relations issues are addressed appropriately, particularly regarding absence, timekeeping, and performance, including disciplinary action when required.

The role requires a high degree of “in the moment” decision-making that can affect safety, quality, and delivery and so you will need to be able to work under pressure, have a flexible approach and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.

As a Production Supervisor you will need to organise and direct work activities and liaise with other departments to ensure production targets can be met so you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
