**Commercial Officer**

**Remuneration**: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum. full time

**Contract Length**: Permanent

**Location**: Hybrid Working, with a minimum of one day a week in the Head Office located in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

While many consumers are now embracing digital payments, there are still millions of people who rely on cash every day. At LINK, we are passionate about protecting access to cash on the UK’s High Streets and ensuring it is maintained for as long as it is needed through the operation of our well-established Financial Inclusion Programme. LINK is regulated by the Payments Systems Regulator and the Bank of England and have a great track record of delivering results for communities.

**What does the Financial Inclusion Team?**

LINK’s access to cash role is currently supported by a voluntary commitment from the UK’s banking industry. In the role of Co-ordinating Body, LINK is notified by participating banks of their intention to close branches and assesses the impact on these communities. LINK also receives requests from communities to review cash access. Where certain criteria are met, LINK recommends new cash facilities such as shared banking hubs and deposit services. Responsibility for implementing the recommendations is with a bank-owned infrastructure company called Cash Access UK.

**What does the role involve?**

To support the Commercial Team in relation to all aspects of Access to Cash Requests

To work with external stakeholders including Members, regulators, elected representatives, consumer groups and individuals to ensure that communities retain appropriate access to cash and banking services

To co-ordinate responses to Access to Cash Requests and appropriate notifications to interested parties to meet Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements

**Main activities**
- Drafting non-standard written communications in response to Access to Cash Requests or general enquiries
- Communicating in writing with interested parties via pre-prepared template communications, advising of progress in respect of Access to Cash Requests
- Managing end to end communication process in respect of Access to Cash Requests and Assessments
- Discussing Access to Cash Requests over the telephone, obtaining further information from interested parties and communicating outcomes both positive and negative
- Meeting with MPs and community representatives to discuss Access to Cash in locations where they believe there to be a deficiency
- Explaining LINK’s role in co-ordinating responses to potential Access to Cash issues within communities

**What will I need to know?**

Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal (face to face and phone)
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident in the use of standard Microsoft packages
- Experience in a customer service environment, preferably within a regulated sector
- Self-motivated
- Well organised and used to working within Service Level Agreements to ensure work is completed within timescales
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in representing LINK professionally at meetings with politicians, community representatives and financial service colleagues
- Consumer focused
