Fuel Farm Operator

We are pleased to be recruiting for a Fuel Farm Operator based near Stansted Airport. **Job Purpose**: North Air is responsible for providing into-plane services and fuel storage/hydrant operations on behalf of oil companies, joint venture companies and airport authorities. We operate at 20 locations across the UK, where we carry out approximately 300 000 fuelling's per year and handle large volumes. We aim to provide safe, reliable and efficient into-plane services and fuel storage operations, to our customers' satisfaction. Carry out all fuel farm and hydrant operations, in accordance with Company and airfield instructions and regulations. These duties will include receipts into the storage facilities; observance of all safety and quality control requirements; maintenance of fuel farm and airside hydrant equipment, general good housekeeping and driving/operating all mechanical equipment within the fuel farm and on airfield. Stansted Fuel Farm is a Lower Tier COMAH site (control of Major Accident Hazards). **Reporting Relationships**: Fuel farm operators will be initially reporting to Operations supervisor for regular maintenance tasks. Reporting to Technical supervisor for any projects or higher echelon maintenance activities. **Key Area's of Responsibility**: **Operations Management** The Fuel Farm Operator is responsible for completing documentation of the various tasks performed and recording results. This includes, and not limited to, - Operational tasks within the fuel farm and on the airport hydrant system. - Maintenance tasks within the fuel farm and on the airport hydrant system. - Vehicle compliance tasks. - Stock Control System - ensure accurate and timely input of fuel data information. Collate data and enter into system, print, check, send, backup and file daily. Deal with enquiries from all parties in an efficient and timely manner. - Safety Incident reporting. - Defect reporting. **Operations** The Operator is responsible for carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently. The Operator will at times being working alone, with ultimate responsibility for receipt of fuel into storage and for the safety and security of the Fuel Farm Facilities. This role includes night shifts as the fuel farm and hydrant system is required to be operational throughout the year. The Operator is responsible to perform all tasks in accordance with the site Operating Standards, Safety Management System (SMS) & Joint Inspection Group (JIG). The basic operating tasks are, but not limited to, the following; - Fuel receipts into main storage - Storage and handling of Jet A1 - Preventative Maintenance - Hydrant Pit Cleaning, which will involve driving and operating Pit Cleaning and Pit Flushing vehicles. - Fuel filter vessel monitoring, reporting, and changing filter elements as required. - Product Quality - Responding to reported faults with hydrant system on the airfield **HSSE** - The Operator must be HSSE minded and work safely at all times. - The Operator works within a small team and therefore his actions and behaviours will impact on others. - The Operator must strictly adhere to the North Air Rules for Operators and Safety Management System (SMS). - The Operator must report all unsafe acts and conditions and safety incidents to his / her Supervisor at all times. - The Operator must conduct tasks as per how he has been trained. - The Operator must acknowledge that Working Safely is a condition of Employment. - Demonstrate knowledge of identified Major Accident Hazards under COMAH regs 2015 **Product Quality** The Operator is required to perform tasks critical to the Quality Assurance System and as such he/she shall be fully trained in such tasks and nominated as an approved product quality inspector for North Air. Such Critical Tasks include, but may not be limited to, the following: - Checking documentation on incoming consignments to ensure information is correct and that it corresponds to documentation sent from the Pipeline Operator and/or fuel supplier and that it conforms to the latest version of DEF STAN 091-91 and AFQRJOS ("Aviation Fuel Quality Requirements for Jointly Operated Systems") - Visual inspection and control checks on incoming exports - Receipt into storage - Release of product - Sampling and testing aviation product within the fuel farm - Sampling and testing aviation product within the airside hydrant system - Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks as appropriate **Fixed and Mobile Plant Maintenance** At the direction of the Technical/Operations Supervisors, the Operator will carry out such tasks as are necessary in the day to day running of the facility.
