**The Role**

The Specialist Consumer Products team are a market leading provider of creditor, affinity group A&H and mortgage insurance. The role involves managing and growing an established portfolio of international business, underwriting risks on behalf of the Syndicate in line with the business plan and personal authority limits.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- You will assess and underwrite new and renewal business targeting business plan loss ratios.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.
- Developing a clear understanding of Consumer Duty, Fair Value measures and other FCA conduct guidance.
- You will participate in the product review process and review those products particularly allocated to you.
- Actively participating in monthly SCP team reporting and SCP Claims meetings.
- Compiling monthly underwriting reports.
- You will develop effective working relationships with other teams including Conduct, Delegated Underwriting Management and Compliance.
- In conjunction with the Head of Technical Underwriting, review and finalise contract wordings and customer documentation. Involve the Conduct team where appropriate. Ensure websites are included in the process.

**Skills and experience**:

- Knowledge of the underwriting of one or more underwriting Consumer Products encompassing Affinity A&H, Creditor insurance and Waiver products, Added Value Ancillary products plus Mortgage Indemnity insurance.
- Intermediate/Advanced desktop abilities (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Influencing skills to assist in effecting change and the ongoing maintenance of SCP products.
- Strong communication skills.
