**The Company**
Nigel Wright Tech are delighted to be working with an innovative Insurtech company in their search for a Senior Data Engineer. The company are immersed in the renewable energy and green technology space and are rapidly expanding due to increasing customer demand.
**The Role**
You would be working closely with the Data Science team, the wider business, external partners and customers helping to set up new data feeds, design and develop data pipelines and data analytics processes. You would be taking a holistic view of the data architecturalstructure and be comfortable finding problems and working with both the team and autonomously to solve these. Other key responsibilities include:
- Work with AWS, python and PostgreSQL to design and create scalable data processing and storage solutions
- Research and implement best practises around security, version control, data management and backups
- Be a key member of the data team, taking ownership of design decisions and providing help and advice to other team members
- Liaise with customers and external partners to set up data feeds and data parsing processes
- Work closely with the wider team to tie down requirements, solve problems and deliver solutions
**The Requirements**
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a unique organisation at an exciting stage in their journey. You would have a big impact on the work the data team do and play a key role in helping the company improve existing products and develop new ones. Keyrequirements include:
- Minimum of 5 years Data Engineering experience (within a production environment)
- AWS (preferred) or Azure knowledge
- Strong experience working with python and relational databases (T-SQL, PostgreSQL or similar, comfortable designing tables, indexes, joins, functions, views)
- Comfortable working alongside clients and stakeholders
- Coaching/mentoring/man management experience
- Comfortable working in a start up environment with ambitious deadlines and priorities that can shift over time
