**About the role of HR Business Partner**

The purpose of this role is to work as part of the People Team to build and manage relationships with teams, managers and key stakeholders to help build organisation and people capability. You will help to create, shape and implement effective people strategiesand activities across the South West Region of Chevron TM.
You will work closely with your business area and help it to implement the business strategy from a people perspective. For example, to create a culture and people approach which will support improved performance and people retention.
Travelling is part of the HR Business Partner role as we have depots across the the South West Region. Therefore, you must have a full, valid UK driving license and your own transport.
**Responsibilities of an HR Business Partner**:
- Meeting key stakeholders to discuss people challenges
- Providing guidance on people practices such as restructures and succession planning
- Bringing people expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy
- Influencing and building relationships with people around the business
- Acting as a local point of people expertise for specialist teams that are implementing new people approaches
- Questioning and challenging others to get to the root of people and business issues
- Coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders to help improve business efficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Group to develop and implement optimal solutions, efficiencies and profitability.
- Managing and coordinating HR Projects
**What good looks like for an HR Business Partner**:
- Full UK driving licence
- An excellent understanding of the organisation, its strategy and customers, and a very good understanding of the people challenges faced by organisations.
- Have experience in helping the business to create a culture and people approaches which will support improved performance
- Have the ability to develop meaningful relationships with key people in their business area, and other teams in the organisation.
- The ability to influence through the use of data, metrics and evidence to inform and drive decision making and change across their business areas.
- Experience in operational activity such as dealing with employee relations or policy issues.
- Experience in driving the people strategy for their business area, alongside teams of specialists, and operational support teams who deal with the day-to-day issues of things like absence and policy
- Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software, inc. Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook and Office 365 Apps
- Self-motivated and a ‘can-do’ attitude
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential including the ability to relate to people at all levels
- Strong change management and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate at different levels of an organisation

- Experience of managing HR Projects
- Experience of using project management tools such as Prince2, Lean or Six Sigma
