**Location: Remote**

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has been set up to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. It will need to take action like no other organisation previously in order to mitigate threats to health before they materialise. UKHSA will be a trusted source of advice to government and to the public.

**JOB SUMMARY**

As a senior visual designer, you’ll be a confident and competent designer who?is able to?develop designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes. You’ll be able to work with product owners to develop design concepts and set direction. You’ll know how to make good decisions and can recognise when to ask for further guidance and support.???

Visual Designers will create graphic elements that underpin interaction and service design. They will use layout, spacing, colour,?type?and iconography to ensure that content is legible and readable, and that interactions are seen and understood by users. Visual Designers make decisions based on research and can incorporate this into their work and understand how this research impacts others.???

We’re looking for a senior visual designer to primarily create and update instructional print and digital communication materials. These materials could include booklets, posters, leaflets or diagrams, illustrations,?sketches.

You will design in the open, communicating the design decisions within the project team and stakeholders, championing the importance of design and user needs.???

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work within a design project team to create intuitive and impactful user experiences???
- Develop designs based on evidence of user needs and?organisational?outcomes??
- Identify, develop and use best practice and standards to design services consistent with the rest of government and the NHS?
- Create contextually appropriate design concepts and proposals
- Effectively communicate design ideas using a variety of techniques, including product concepts, service models, user journeys, system maps and/or infographics, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fidelity sketches and prototypes??
- Conduct and undertake analysis of usability tests (e.g?heuristic evaluations and A/B testing)?
- Advocate for users and understand user needs to design simple, effective and accessible products and services?
- Participate and facilitate a range of design workshops??
- Undertake design research alongside service designers, user researchers and content???- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
