We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Nurses and Paramedics to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team of Clinical Practitioners based in Bicester, Oxfordshire to support the smooth running of our 999 service.
All day Saturday (midnight to midnight) as well as any week day after 8pm and before 6am - Time plus 30%
All day Sunday and public holidays (midnight to midnight) - Time plus 60%
We are looking for Nurses and Paramedics to work as part of our dynamic team providing clinical support to patients that have contacted the ambulance service. Our role is to perform in-depth virtual assessments and ensure that all patients receive the most appropriate level of care in the most appropriate care setting. This is a challenging role that requires confidence, assertiveness and great communication and negotiation skills.
Working as part of the team on the Clinical Support Desk you will be working in the live ambulance control centre alongside Call Takers, Dispatchers and other NHS professionals. You will be directly involved with live emergency calls undertaking complex virtual assessments using specialist software, your clinical judgement and extensive knowledge to carry out complex clinical assessments of patients over the phone and using video technology. You will also be supporting our non clinical staff with patient assessments and demand management. You will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills with a broad range of patients, family members and other healthcare professionals, often exploring and resolving complex clinical and social issues. Balancing the needs of our individual patients with the availability of resources and demand on the Service requires critical thinking and problem solving skills, team working, innovation and good IT skills.
