General Yard Operative

About our opportunity:
The purpose of this role is to efficiently perform all required site yard operative duties, within a customer site, to ensure all service level agreements and KPIs are met in full.

What you will be doing:

- Ensure all operational equipment is in good working order. Daily Pre Use Check Sheets are completed in full and any defects reported to your Shift Team Leader in a timely manner.
- Ensure effective communication is in place with daily liaison with your Shift Team Leader/Operations Manager as and when necessary to ensure client contract/KPIs are facilitated as required.
- Ensure all EMR employees/ contractors/ visitors are following the safe working practices as detailed in EMR & JLR HS&E procedures whilst on site.
- Ensure all daily and periodic equipment checks are completed in full.
- Completing daily documented basement cleaning audits to ensure the area is in a clean condition.
- Work with colleagues to ensure that all machine defects are captured and actioned accordingly (Event Log/Action Log should be used and updated as and when necessary).
- Collecting and emptying all Press Shop Line scrap bins, panels, metal finish rejects and any ad-hoc scrap particles from the line.
- Conducting regular checks on machinery (inc mobile plant where applicable) and work areas, reporting any problems.
- Empty trailers picked up and weighed. Full trailers picked up and weighed, paperwork completed ready for dispatch
- Control room, monitoring of CCTV, material changes, trailer fill and movement requirements.
- General housekeeping and keeping the working area clean and tidy including waste oil and water collection and removal from the basement cleaning operation.
- You will be required to work in other areas of the operational depot when needed.
- Contributing as part of a team working as a departmental unit to achieve a common goals
- To actively participate in the promotion of a positive relationship with the Client
- To take reasonable instruction form your Team Leader/Operations Manager

Package Description
Continental shift pattern: 4 12 hour days - 2 days off - 4 12 hour nights - 6 days off
