**The Role**

As a **Production Operative** at Clayton Glass, you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality glass products. Your responsibilities will include supporting our production processes, ensuring top-notch quality, and adhering to safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operating Machinery**: You will be responsible for operating various machines involved in cutting, shaping, and processing glass. This includes following operational instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.
- **Handling and Processing Glass**: Safely loading and unloading glass onto production lines or machines, ensuring that glass sheets or components are handled with care to avoid damage.
- **Quality Control**: Conducting quality checks on finished glass products to identify any defects, such as cracks or chips, and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
- **Assembly and Packaging**: Assisting with the assembly of glass units, such as double glazing, and packaging products for safe transportation or further production stages.
- **Safety and Maintenance**: Ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also conduct basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or malfunctions.
- **Material Handling**: Moving raw materials to the production area and organizing inventory as needed to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
- **General Production Support**: Working closely with your team to meet production targets, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting various tasks as needed to ensure an efficient workflow.

- Punctual, with a strong attendance record, and fully committed to your shift hours.
- Manual dexterity. Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and standing.

**Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria**:

- Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work night shifts if required.

**Additional Information**:

- **Location: Clayton Glass, 6 James Street, Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, ML4 3LU**
- **Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week with rotating shifts.**
- **Week 1: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 15:00 (finishing at 14:30 on Fridays).**:

- **Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 13:30-22:30. Friday 11:30 - 20:00**
- **Salary: Starting rate of £11.44 per hour during a 3-month probation period, rising to £11.66 per hour post-probation, plus a shift rotation allowance of £0.83 per hour.**
- **Positions Available: Up to 4 openings.**
