Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.
With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.
Newhouse is located in the semi-rural village of Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Scotland. Our home offers residential support for 22 adults with a primary learning disability diagnosis, who may also have physical health needs, or be on the autism spectrum.
Our passionate team is on hand to provide just the right level of support to allow individuals to live as independently as possible.
**Key Responsibilities**:
As cook it will be your responsibility to plan, prepare and present high quality food and hospitality for our residents. Working to the highest of standards, ensuring dietary requirements of all the residents are met.
What is expected from you?
Assist the Home Manager with menu creation, ensuring a nutritious, varied menu is available
Ensure all food preparation meets the requirements of COSHH, Food safety and health & safety regulations
Manage food budgets and stocks, checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas of the kitchen
Overall kitchen staff management, training, recruiting and rotas.
We are looking for a confident individual and someone who has relevant experience in a similar sized kitchen and qualifications in food hygiene, prep and cookery. This challenging role promises good onward progression the successful applicant; you will need to have the ability to think on your feet, a passion for food and the service you provide.
