**We are looking for a Youth Support worker to join our team to work with or Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Youth**

CentrePeace is a small family run company whose diverse staff team are genuinely interested in providing the best outcomes for the young people we support. We provide high quality shared and solo Ofsted registered accommodation for young people in care 16+. CentrePeace specialises in providing support for children and young people who have complex needs which include Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), CSE AND Gang Affiliation. We create a home environment that exceeds the needs of the children and young people, enabling them to express their characters, feel safe, and enrich their lives.
- **Salary £26,312 to £28,600 based on a 44 hour week (4 shifts)**:

- **Night shifts may be available and are paid at £93.78 per shift in addition to day shifts**:

- **This role is for 12 hour shifts**:

- **Day shift 8am to 8pm; 4 shifts are needed to attract the advertised salary**:

- **Sleeping nights 8pm to 8am paid at minimum wage limited availability**:

- **Across 7 days of the week.**:

**What you’ll do**:
Provide translation for the young people and support English Language Learning

Daily interaction with young people living in solo or shared accommodation.

Supporting and assessing practical tasks like: budgeting; meal preparation; housekeeping; personal hygiene - promoting their independence;
Supporting our young people’s health and well-being by: arranging GP; Dentist; Optician, CAHM’s appointments and supporting to attend.

Encouraging young people’s identified leisure interests

Safeguarding young people and protecting from harm

Reading risk assessments and updating them as needed

Reporting any concerns in relation to child protection/safeguarding inline with our safeguarding procedures

Visitor checks;
Dealing with significant incidents like missing episodes; self-harm

Ensuring all documents and reports are completed in a timely professional manner

Keep the accommodations clean and risk free with daily cleaning tasks

Attending relevant meetings with professionals

Attending all staff and house meetings

**What you need to apply**:

- Aged 22 and over to fulfill the legal requirements of the role (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9, Part 1).
- Experience in the support field as Support Worker/Youth Worker is desirable but not essential as full training given
- Willing to undergo training to register with Social Care Wales
- Have an NVQ level 2/ 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care (or willing to working towards)
- Knowledge of Other Cultures there linguistic; religious and cultural needs
- Have experience and knowledge of Safeguarding Young People
- Be comfortable and confident dealing with challenging behaviours and setting firm boundaries
- Knowledge of PACE/ ACEs or Trauma informed care
- Be able to act on your own initiative and be flexible to the changing needs of our young people.
- Good command of written and verbal English
- Have good computer skills for record keeping
- Be flexible to work across a rota - doing 3 or 4 12 hour day shifts a week (if you are just looking for night shifts to supplement another job - please do not apply).
- Undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Speak Welsh/Pashto; Urdu, Arabic; Kurdish

**Desirable**:

- Have Experience of working CSE/CCE and de-escalation
- Clean driving license
