- Post No. POSN002249 - Social Work Assistant
- Newport Children and Family Services are seeking to appoint a Social Work Assistant within one of the Pathway Teams.
- This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people who are looked after, children who are on a Care Order and young people (16/17 years old) who are homeless, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. You will be based in one of the two Pathway Teams who support children and young people between the ages of 0-25.
- The teams have the statutory responsibility of ensuring that children who are looked after have their needs met and that they are being supported in line with the corporate parenting strategy. These teams also manage all aspects of child protection and also operate a daily duty system.
- The Pathway Service is comprised of three Teams, including team managers, senior practitioners, social workers, young person’s advisors and social work assistants. We work with children and young people up to the age of 25 and their families. We have a stable workforce, supervision is regular and the opportunities for career development and training are excellent. There are also a number of agencies operating locally who work with the young people and their families to improve their lives.
