We're looking for a motivated and experienced Billing professional/Team Leader to join our Finance Team. Sitting at the heart of our billing operations, you will lead a high-performing team that bridges the gap between our central finance function and legal teams - ensuring a “right first time” billing experience for our clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and improve billing processes, support strategic financial goals, and play a key role in developing both our people and systems.

**What You'll Be Doing**
- Lead and inspire the Billing Team, managing workloads, performance, and development.
- Own the billing cycle across the firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Revenue Control, FP&A, and legal teams to support complex billing needs.
- Manage the charge rates, including annual reviews and ad hoc requests.
- Act as a key escalation point, providing expert advice on billing and VAT queries.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate processes.
- Support system enhancements, including testing and training for billing-related tools.

**What We're Looking For**
- Proven experience in billing, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing others.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- A strong track record of working with stakeholders at all levels and across departments.
- A collaborative approach and a strong sense of duty to delivering high-quality service.

**Desirable Skills**
- Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, HMRC VAT legislation, and AML requirements.
- Experience with Aderant or similar practice management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFs).
- Experience in billing best practice design or implementation.
