AIM OF THE ROLE:
The Health & Safety Manager will provide expert health and safety advice, guidance and support at an operational level to the Trust and monitor compliance with the requirements of relevant Health & Safety related legislation, Trust Policy and guidance specificallyrelated to the management of Health & Safety.

The Health & Safety Mangers will support the Head of Health and Safety in the development and implementation and maintenance of all relevant Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, Protocols and Guidelines in relation to the management of Health & Safety.The post holder will provide specialist advice and guidance in respect to the delivery of Health & Safety arrangements, guidance, systems and procedures for the Trust.

The Health & Safety Manager will assist in the management and monitoring of the Trust’s risk profile in respect of Health & Safety, working closely with Divisions, Corporate Directorates, Senior Managers, Line Managers, Technical Specialists, Staff and Contractorsto ensure that the risk profile is reflective of operational and organisational Health & Safety risks.

The post holder will also work closely with all areas to ensure that the Trust’s accident, incident and near miss reporting system is implemented, monitored and actioned appropriately.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

- Deliver the health and safety policy in a sensible, practical and proportionate way
- Under risk and safety assessments and provide support to areas requiring specialist technical assistance
- Maintain reporting systems and data for H&S events in the Trust
- Development and delivery of H&S training within the Trust to ensure the Trust is protected from risk.
- Develop communication and engagement programmes to improve the Trust’s health and safety culture
- Develop accident/incident reduction techniques within the Trust. Share learning to identify trends that reduce risks.
- Investigate health and safety accidents, incidents and workplace hazards and ensure appropriate prevention measures in place
