I am exclusively supporting a global company specialising in the Metal & Aerospace industry. This company have an exceptional culture in their offices, and due to expansion I am leading the search for a Junior Buyer.

Package Details:

- £27,000-£32,000 (Dependent on experience).
- 23 days holiday rising to 28 days with service + All bank holidays
- Office based - 5 days per week, 8:30am - 17:00pm
- Pension - 5% employee contribution, 3% employer (employer contribution rises with service - max 8%)

Role Details:

- To raise and amend where necessary purchase orders on vendors as requested by Sales, Senior Buyer or Purchasing Manager
- To ensure all orders are acknowledged and loaded on MRP/purchasing system (training will be provided) in a timely & efficient manner
- Ensure all acknowledgements are checked against the purchase order
- Expediting orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates whilst using initiative to pull forward or push back orders in line with company requirements
- Maintenance of the alloy surcharges on MRP/purchasing system
- Maintenance of supplier approvals, liaising with the QA Dept
- Distributing vendor delivery performance reports and follow up poor performing vendors
- Assisting with the administrative aspects of managing large requests for quotation packages
- Sense check and release of Buyout, Directs and Purchase orders
- Circulation of monthly reports
- Set up of new vendors on MRP/purchasing system for all districts
- Monitoring and managing the Purchasing Group Inbox
- Responsible for the re-order of both stationery and warehouse consumables
- Ongoing Purchasing Projects i.e. PO Comments Tidy Up

Required Skills & Experience:

- Experienced within a purchasing environment is essential.
- 2 years plus administration experience.
- Ability to read, write, and fluently speak the English language
- Strong knowledge of Excel including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, formulas, and index matching
- Strong organisation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service and planning skills
- Proactive and flexible approach
- High attention to detail required
- Team player
