The role of Sustainability Co-ordinator is an exciting permanent opportunity where you will be responsible for managing several key employee engagement and environmental programs, as well as coordinating the implementation of critical global initiatives.

This is a broad role across both the environmental and social elements of Sustainability, working on projects delivered in US, UK, Europe and Asia Pacific.

To be successful in the role you will have good working knowledge of CSR/Sustainability practices, excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of international charities, community organizations and consultancies.

You will be based in our newly refurbished London office, however we are excited to have implemented our Smart Working initiative offering a hybrid way of working, combining both remote and office working.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Support the implementation of the carbon reduction strategy across AXA XL through development of resources, organizing briefings with key stakeholders, creating and maintaining project management documentation and monitoring progress against targets
- Coordinate the verification and reporting of AXA XL’s carbon footprint with Workplace and our carbon consultancy, and manage AXA XL’s carbon offsets and our engagement with developing Blue Carbon Resilience Credits
- Manage the US Scholarship program for children of AXA XL employees, including liaising with Scholarship America, preparing Board meeting materials and creating internal communications
- Drive our VolunTree Heroes campaigns, showcasing AXA XL volunteers twice a year in internal communications and social media
- Lead the development of our colleague-led Green Committees, namely by creating new Green Committees in offices currently not represented and supporting established Committees with resources and engagement opportunities
- Coordinate the team’s internal communications, including maintaining and updating the annual communications plan, creating content for the Sustainability Sharepoint page, HR materials, internal newsletters, and social media content as directed by the needs of the team/key campaigns
- Support the development of the Coastal Risk Index and the Ocean Risk Scholarships program, and regional community investment programs along with members of the wider Sustainability team
- Manage the Matching Gifts program, including due diligence, liaison with our third-party platform provider and reporting and evaluation of the program
- Coordinate PO and invoice processing and, with the Sustainability Officer, manage financial reporting for the Sustainability budget
- Support with key reporting projects, such as the CIS and the annual Sustainability report, and implementing impact measurement processes
- Provide project coordination support across the Sustainability team as needed

You will report to Global Sustainability Director.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Good working knowledge of CSR/Sustainability practices through a previous CSR, Sustainability or nonprofit-related role or related degree qualification
- Confidence with coordinating a range of environmental and community-focused projects, including organizing and monitoring tasks, liaising and managing stakeholders, driving progress and supporting impact measurement
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of colleagues and external partners (charities, community organizations, academic bodies and consultancies) and to prepare engaging written communications which inspire action
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain documentation for multiple ongoing projects
- Passion for driving sustainable change, encouraging our company and colleagues to make positive impacts in our communities and for our planet
