**Physical Activity Co-ordinator (FTC)**

Open Age was established in 1993 and we’re now celebrating almost 30 years of championing an active life for older people.
Working across Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham, we run over 300 different activities for older people from three Open Age centres and over 40 community venues each week.
From boxing to ballet, baking to blogging, we support anyone aged 50 or older to sustain their physical and mental fitness, maintain an active lifestyle and strengthen their sense of community.

Joining our passionate and talented team, you’ll have the chance to support older people in London to take part in meaningful activities, strengthen their sense of community and discover new hobbies, all whilst having fun and making new friends.
Most of all, you’ll use your expertise and knowhow to help us combat loneliness and isolation amongst older people in a varied and engaging role where no two days are the same.
**The Role**
As a Physical Activity Co-ordinator, you will support older people to improve their health and well-being through exercise and, in doing so, help them to maintain their independence.
Specifically, you will plan, develop, promote and deliver our general physical activity offering, both online and in-person, to older people across London.
From weekly physical activity and dance sessions to health talks and taster sessions
across community venues and leisure centres, you’ll strive to increase participation and ensure all sessions are delivered to a high standard.
Additionally, you will:

- Source and manage qualified exercise instructors
- Source venues for the delivery of physical activities and facilitate online sessions
- Perform essential administrative tasks including answering member enquiries
- Liaise with health professionals and older people to raise awareness of our services
- Manage project budgets
**About You**
To join us as a Physical Activity Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience in community sports, physical activity, health and/or leisure service provision
- A genuine willingness to work with older people
- An understanding of the physiological and social issues affecting older people
- The ability to manage your time effectively whilst co-ordinating multiple timetables and classes
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong IT and report writing skills and the ability to interpret data
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A qualification in the area of sports and/or physical activity
- The ability to travel throughout the area we work in on a daily basis
