Nestling along the river on the Queens Promenade, in Kingston you’ll find the charming Ginger Bees Café. Independently run by Beth and Gavin, the coffee shop is well known and much loved by the local community.

**Your key areas of responsibility are to**:

- Prepare ingredients and create delicious fresh sandwiches, toasties, paninis & salads, following recipes and preparation techniques to clean and high standards; with an eye for presentation.
- Serve soft scoop ice cream in a clean and efficient manner.
- Support the Head Barista by preparing drinks to an extremely high standard; tasting amazing, looking beautiful.
- Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and shop to our 5 star hygiene rating.
- Controlling and maintaining stock levels.
- Occasional table service will be required to ensure we support all of our customers.
- Displaying products clearly to allow our customers to make purchasing decisions.
- Handling of cash and operation of our till system.
- Carry out shop opening and closing procedures.

We’re a strong team; meaning we operate very efficiently. You will be expected to support different sections as and when required to maintain a smooth service.

- You enjoy working under pressure and thrive in a fast pace environment.
- You have a strong team mentality.
- You either have barista or café experience.
- You are able to organise a clean and tidy workspace.
- You enjoy having the opportunity to spend time by the river.
- You can demonstrate initiative and common sense.
- Would be good, but not essential if you're familiar with the local surroundings.
- You are conscious, and try to reduce you impact on the environment.
- Above all, you need to enjoy interacting with people.

During summer we could open 7 days a week so you must be able to work weekends, bank holidays as well as school holidays as these will be our busiest times.

Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in English and have valid ID which allows you to live and work in the UK without restrictions. You must have a British bank account and a National Insurance number.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-40 per week

**Salary**: Up to £10.50 per hour

We are operating an outdoor only service. The use of face masks are still encouraged. We test a minimum of twice a week. Hand sanitising station set up upon entry.
