**Job Description**:
**Job responsibilities will include**:
Regular visits to various sites or acting as a resident engineer on one site for the project duration, to inspect and provide written reports to the project team.

Reviewing drawings, specifications and ensuring that the project is being built to the contract requirements and to the correct quality standards, raising/querying any discrepancies verbally and in writing.

Witnessing of MEP commissioning and providing Test & Inspection Reports for each system.

Obtaining and reviewing test certificates and other documentation required under the contract.

Monitoring progress against the contract programme.

Reporting on any health and safety concerns noted on site, general site conditions and ensuring any matters are dealt with by the site management team.

Identifying and highlighting defects and following them up until they are rectified, and maintaining a defects register and updating this monthly to be included within the clients project report.

You will be the ‘eyes and ears’ for the client on site, updating them on progress through the completion of our standard site visit reports.

**Requirements**:
Experience working on scientific, educational, commercial and other building projects as a Clerks of Works or NEC Supervisor, ideally an Accredited NEC Supervisor or member of ICWCI or someone who is willing to work towards such a qualification.

Able to demonstrate recent experience in an NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works role within the Construction Industry, and a general knowledge of all main Building Industry trades and activities.

Experience working with Web Portals containing design/works information, drawings specifications, method statements etc. with the ability to download, view and retrieve information effectively.

The ability to read technical drawings and specifications and interpret contract programmes.

Knowledge of site health and safety procedures is essential.

A sound experience of technical building design and Building Regulations.

A knowledge and experience of Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health design or a strength in one of these disciplines.

Experience of working under both the JCT and NEC suite of contracts.

Strong communication skills including project reporting.

The ability to work on a number of projects at any one time and manage their time accordingly.

**Qualifications**:
Someone who holds a current Skills Card or equivalent card with a ‘Professionally Qualified Person’ level of attainment or someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this.
