**Role overview**
We are recruiting for an experienced, creative and collaborative UX/UI Designer to join the Digital Experience team at Ashurst. You will be responsible for designing and supporting the delivery of compelling, visually engaging, and delightful digital experiences for both clients and employees of Ashurst (by way of digital products and solutions) that encompass and enhance the Ashurst brand and ethos.
**What will you be doing?**
The Digital Experience team sits within the Office of the Chief Digital Officer (the OCDO) and is a supportive and tight knit team that is unafraid to push boundaries and deliver change. The team has, to date, been comprised of service designers and user researchers and used external agency support for UX/ UI design work. Our roadmap now supports bringing in permanent UX/UI resource.
Day-to-day, you will be working alongside product specialists, service designers, user researchers, change managers and technical delivery teams within the support and context of the broader firm resources and structure.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to:
- Understanding the user
Supporting user research activities including:
- conducting user research, usability testing and workshops with users, internal and external, to elicit pain points, needs and requirements;
- analysing and synthesising often complex and sometimes legally intricate user insights and needs to inform and prioritise design decisions; and
- bringing user research insights to life visually so that they can be understood and appreciated by a wider audience.
- Designing and delivering digital experiences
Including:
- designing wireframes, prototypes, visuals, storyboards and interactive high-fidelity mock-ups that bring product and solution ideas to life so that design concepts can be communicated, tested and iterated;
- turning design concepts, journeys and experiences into user stories for product owners and/or developers;
- running design reviews and articulating design decisions to relevant stakeholders;
- ensuring that design integrity is maintained during the development process; and
- tracking and improving UX across live digital platforms and products including troubleshooting where required.
- Setting the standard
Including:
- developing and maintaining design systems, component libraries and patterns and design resources for use by the team;
- ensuring that all digital designs are accessible and build on industry-standard usability and accessibility guidelines; and
- by staying up to date with design trends, best practice, and new technologies in UX/ UI design, developing own and team knowledge and expertise.
- Supporting the strategy and roadmap of the OCDO

**Skills and experience**
Must have
- a degree and extensive experience in a UX/UI role either in-house or agency
- a strong, shareable, portfolio that showcases your capability and experience and journey
- experience of working in agile product development teams
