**The Service**: Located in Warrington, Maple House is a 21 bed community facing purpose built hospital for men aged 18 years and above with complex mental health needs due to mental illness and/or acquired brain injury. The service will provide an holistic approach to recovery from mental illness whilst maximising potential and promoting independence.

We strive to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment to enable each of the males in our care to achieve meaningful and sustainable recovery and fulfil their individual potential to the maximum extent. We help them make positive change in their lives and to gain greater independence, long-term mental well-being and successful reintegration into their community at their earliest opportunity.

**About you**:You’re a Proactive, can-do individual with experience working in building maintenance. Ideally, some of that has been gained within a care/Healthcare setting but this is not essential. As well as being practical, you like dealing with people. You’re happy building good relationships with colleagues and contractors. You’re a multi-tasker who can work well under pressure and use your initiative to solve problems. Above all, you’re a team player who takes pride in your work and is committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for our service.

**Your role**:
The safety of our patients and staff is paramount. So your role will be to ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard. You’ll perform regular checks, carry out repairs and Assist the Maintenance Lead with the maintenance tasks required on a day to day basis.

You’ll be confident and willing to assist with fire safety, basic electrical and appliance checks.

Faults must be reported and actioned promptly. We’ll also expect you to keep the grounds looking tidy and carry out redecoration work throughout the unit this includes filling, sanding, painting and glossing walls, ceilings and woodwork.

This role requires excellent time management and the ability to adapt your day to suit service requirements, with a steady workload that may change day to day dependent on multiple factors.

The unit operates 24 hours a day requiring constant upkeep and maintenance ranging from redecoration of communal and living areas, minor damage repairs such as faulty/broken doors or closing mechanisms, as well as general plumbing repairs. The role also includes regular maintenance checks such as fire safety, fire drills and visual electrical checks.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this position
