**BACKGROUND**
Badminton Scotland is the National Governing Body for the sport of badminton in Scotland with a wide remit to actively promote and encourage badminton development from grass roots through local leagues and competitions to the highest playing level, including providing services for players and coaches. Through funding from **spor**tscotland, corporate sponsorship and partners, we administer the sport, provide services to our members and promote and organise events at every level.
**JOB PURPOSE**
There are significant growth opportunities for the sport and the marketing position will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing campaigns for key events and programmes.
Engagement with non-member recreational players is critical to this role. Core to this will be a focus on communications and the development and support of online and offline initiatives and opportunities. Developing sponsorship and commercial income will also be important.
The Marketing Officer is responsible for:
- Creating and implementing marketing campaigns for key events and programmes
- Brand management (across all output and for events)
- Creating and managing content for our website and social media channels
- Establishing effective communication plans across the Badminton network and with external partners, sponsors and press/media
- Engaging with the 150,000 regular Badminton players that are not members of Badminton Scotland
- Building the profile of our players on the global circuit
- Supporting the wider team to increase membership and commercial/sponsorship activities
- Analysis of online data and analytics, reports, and insights to inform marketing decision making

Marketing or equivalent qualification.
Knowledge & Experience
Web and Social Media content management
Campaign planning and execution
Analysis of online data and analytics, reports, statistics and insights
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of people and in a variety of formats and styles.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Reporting: Ability to effectively monitor and evaluate the achievement of objectives.
Proven time management skills with the ability to meet hard deadlines.
Able to work on own initiative.
Able to work well within a team and create strong relationships with partners.
Development of digital analysis tools/strategies to improve customer and market insight
Knowledge of sporting governing bodies and their role within the sport.
Experience of working with diverse groups and individuals.
Additional Requirements
Flexible working arrangements and ability to work evenings and weekends (at events) as required.
Clean driving licence
