Estates and Facilities cover a vast number of services and we provide support to every area of clinical care. You would be leading the team at Queens Medical Centre which is made up of facilities managers heading up services and assistant manager and team leaders below them. This is already a close team that works well together.

This post, based at Queens Medical Centre, is full time, working Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work out of those ours to ensure our 24-hour services are supported. The Queens Medical Centre is a busy major trauma hospital and whilst this post is based at QMC some cross site working and cover would be expected with the team at City Hospital.

**Main duties of the job**:
Below is a summary of the main duties of the post. This is not an exhaustive list and will cover many more aspects of facilities management and service improvement.

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategy for the service and compilation and implementation of business plans and Service Level Agreements (SLA’S) where necessary

ensure that performance targets and strategic objectives are met

act as named responsible officer for the statutory and mandatory performance for facilities service and expected to report and provide specialist advice as professional lead. This can vary as determined by operational requirement.

support the Head of Facilities in the strategic management of the services and on all matters relating to the operational management and deputise for that post holder when required.

be required to carry out public engagement through the Patient Partnership Group and undertake customer satisfaction and service user interface

be responsible for human resource, performance and budgetary management for a wide range of site specific operational services and trust wide in respect of facilities management services within limits set through agreed schemes of delegation

ensure that the facilities services provided across the site are patient centred and meet the needs of the Clinical Divisions, working in partnership with divisional leads to make improvements where needed.

**Working for our organisation**:
This post is a full time contract covering Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work out of those ours to ensure all 24 hour services are supported. Annual leave entitlement starts at 27 days. QMC is a busy major trauma centre acute hospital and whilst this post is based at QMC some cross site working and cover would be expected with the City site FM team as well.

The local QMC team is made up of facilities managers heading up services and assistant manager and team leaders below them. they are a close team and work well to cover each other.

You would be based in the QMC hub located in South block on A43.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The main duties of this post are to support the Head of Facilities and manage on a day to day basis the needs of the services as well as driving forward service improvement initiatives.

Strong visible leadership will be key as will strong interpersonal skills to communicate with the wider teams both below and above the level of this post.

Performance management and a strategic vision will be needed to maintain and improve services going forward.

**Training and Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of relevant management experience (must have at least 5 years at a senior level).
- Leadership and/or management qualification.
- Substantial demonstrable experience in high level operational post managing the delivery of Facilities services.
- Experience of managing an organisational wide remit of services in cleaning, catering and/or linen services.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.

**Desirable criteria**:

- MBA in Facilities Management

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Knowledge of health service management, including change management and workforce re-design, acquired through training and experienced to Master’s or equivalent level.
- Experience in managing NHS
