**About Cambridge Acorn Project**

Cambridge Acorn Project is a well-respected therapeutic charity in Cambridgeshire. We do therapeutic social work through our community wellbeing drop-in hubs and provide bespoke therapeutic packages for children and families who have experienced trauma and are facing financial hardship. We are a responsive, justice-focussed charity where children and families who have lived through adverse experiences can access support quickly within their communities in a way that is meaningful for them.

We have an exciting role for a registered therapist, counsellor, or social worker to join us and coordinate our East Cambs Wellbeing Hub, including running our drop-in service one day per week in Soham. This part-time role is hybrid requiring in-person work across East Cambs as well as some home working. This is an important role in the development of our community-led services in East Cambs and you will work closely with our CEO and Charity Manager to coordinate the Wellbeing Hub and ensure the smooth delivery a range of different therapeutic services for children and families to promote recovery from trauma. You will need to be passionate about taking a trauma-informed approach, tackling inequality, and have a strong track record of working systemically with children and families.

**Responsibilities and Main Duties**
- Working with the CEO and Charity Manager to deliver community based therapeutic services through the East Cambs Wellbeing Hub to ensure children and families who have experienced trauma and face financial hardship can access support quickly.
- Building collaborative networks in East Cambs and developing positive working relationships with other services including voluntary organisations, schools, and the local authority, attending meetings as appropriate.
- Identifying new opportunities for targeted work to meet the needs of disadvantaged children and families in East Cambs and work with CEO and Charity Manager to develop new projects.
- Compassionately running the in person East Cambs Wellbeing Drop-In, in line with Cambridge Acorn Project aims and values (one day per week in Soham).
- Triaging referral inquiries in East Cambs to ensure that Cambridge Acorn Project takes appropriate referrals in line with our organisational capacity, remit, and levels of acceptable risk.
- Coordinating the East Cambs therapeutic workload including managing partnership working, managing therapeutic caseload capacity, providing advice, problem solving and allocating referrals to therapeutic assessment practitioners.
- Providing compassionate, strengths-based, effective line management supervision to East Cambs Hub therapeutic practitioners and volunteers.
- Working with the Senior Management Team to ensure funding is in place for bespoke therapeutic packages.
- Maintaining a personal caseload of client work, delivering therapeutic work with children and families, and efficiently recording casework notes using our secure system.
- Using screening and evaluation tools to measure impact of services and participate in organisational research projects.
- Participating in staff and volunteer recruitment and induction.
- Maintaining confidentiality, boundaries and staying up to date with, and adhering to, organisational policies including safeguarding.
- Developing excellent knowledge of our organisational principles and upholding in all aspects of work.

**Person Specification**
- A core qualification in social work, counselling, therapy, psychology, or related discipline. A dual qualification in social work and a therapeutic modality would be an advantage.
- Current registration in one or more of the above professions with a recognised professional body including HCPC, UKCP, BACP, and SWE.
- A good understanding of the East Cambs context, areas of need, and existing services and voluntary organisations.
- A firm understanding of trauma and the impact on children and families
- Excellent knowledge of the principles underpinning social work, including social justice, personal liberty, and empowerment.
- Direct experience of working systemically with children and families and putting in place holistic packages of support.
- A deep understanding of confidentiality and the ability to maintain boundaried relationships.
- At least five years’ post-qualifying experience, evidence of continuing professional development and demonstrable capability of practice.
