**The Role**:
Responsible for managing the core Operations team of c.25 people for a large private equity client. Accountable for the performance management process and staffing for the unit. Participates in developing the strategic plan and manages the unit''s expenses. Services the bank''s clients and prospects by responding to inquiries regarding bank products and services. Develops plans to promote new or existing products and services.
**Responsibilities**:
- Team management of c.25 people with approximately 5 direct reports, managing staffing needs and recruitment process for new joiners
- Point of operational escalation and oversight of accounting, administration and company secretarial delivery via managers of each team
- Assists with relationship management of Guernsey business stream
- Ensures overall client satisfaction by facilitating efforts of service team, co-ordinating resources to end-delivery and issue resolution, and effectively communicates client concerns / needs to partners
- Develops complete understanding of client’s business objectives, goals and market challenges and develops a relationship plan to reflect these
- Cultivates strong working relationships with client contacts. Demonstrates the ability to add value by providing solutions and partnering with the client to implement
- Educates the client on emerging issues, Northern Trust products and services, regulatory/tax changes, the general fund environment, advising the client of the impact on the client’s business and on Northern Trust services
- Manages debtor profile, facilitates the timely issuance of accurate invoices
- Ensures staff training and development
- Leadership and support of team members, act as consultant and coach team managers
- Lead key projects for team and process/procedure reviews
- Act as director/alternate director on client boards and member of management team
**Knowledge/Skills**
- Knowledge of bank products and services, usually obtained through a training program and related work experience, is required in order to service clients.
- Knowledge of personal computer capabilities usually obtained through experience or training is required to analyze hardware, software, and network issues.
- Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals,resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.
