University of York, United Kingdom University of York Full time

**Department**:
These roles are based within two teams within Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO). MRAO has responsibility for marketing, recruitment and outreach to prospective students and other key stakeholders, throughout the student journey for all levels of study from across the UK. Four of the roles will be located in the Access and Outreach team and one in the Student Recruitment team.

This is an exciting time for the Access and Outreach team as we support the University's renewed focus on widening access, building on our founding principles of social purpose, equality, diversity and inclusion. For the Student Recruitment team this is a time to develop our work with schools and colleges, prospective students and their supporters as well as our recruitment events.

You will be joining a Department with a central goal, and a team of enthusiastic, experienced and committed colleagues. We are seeking new members of the teams who will be equally committed to our goal of widening access and increasing diversity and will contribute to the success of our new Access and Outreach and Student Recruitment strategies.

**Role**:
Post holders will support the development and delivery of programmes, events and activities both locally and across the UK, to support widening participation and student recruitment in higher education and at the University of York. This will involve the delivery of existing programmes and the development of new innovative initiatives that meet the objectives set out in the University vision, our Access and Outreach strategy and our Access and Participation Plan. You will have the opportunity to contribute new ideas and gain significant experience in impactful access and outreach work.

You will represent the University at events across the UK and on campus, to support and promote the progression of people from underrepresented groups to higher education. You will undertake outward visits to schools and colleges, as well as inward visits of school/college groups to the University and in the Access and Outreach team also residential events for programme participants. Specifically, in the Student Recruitment team your role is to support the organisation and delivery of the University’s undergraduate open and visit days. You will also develop and deliver a range of new presentations, activities and digital content.

These are fixed-term contracts for a period of 12 months.

**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:
Applicants should be educated to degree level from the University of York (or have an equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience), you will be enthusiastic, committed to the principles of widening participation and will be well informed about post-16 education. You should have strong communication skills, including confidence in delivering talks and presentations to prospective students and their supporters/advisers about your recent and relevant higher education experience.

**Interview date**:Interviews will be held on either **Wednesday 21 September** or **Thursday 22 September**.

**Condition of employment**:
The University strives to be diverse and inclusive - a place where we can ALL be ourselves.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
