Project Consultant

Wood Process and Energy is recruiting for an experienced Project Consultant with extensive EPC and EPCm experience in O&G, Chemicals and Petrochemical Projects on a contract basis.

**Hybrid Working**:

- working from home and some days a week expected in the Stockton's office

You will create delivery excellence across assigned project/portfolio, provide certainty and confidence to the client/project sponsor, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.

Specifies and coordinates the implementation of a large or complex project or portfolio of small to medium sized projects. This includes responsibility for safe delivery, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost/budget targets are met and for managing the associated risk. Responsible for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and client relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is in place.

Accountable for delivering projects across multiple phases, for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and project budgets.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Focal point for discipline leads to multi-discipline issues that require expediting or resolution
- Organise, attend, chair, contribute and prepare reports for safety reviews and other multidiscipline meetings
- Collate actions and expedite the closure of the outstanding actions with appropriate design disciplines
- Forecast work area activities against schedule and deliverables at a work division and individual basis
- Integration of design schedule to procurement and/or fabrication schedules
- Prepare and check the scope of work specifications, project procedures and project reports
- Monitor and review engineering progress with Project Services and Engineering disciplines
- Review engineering budgets and performance and initiate control measures including adjustments to manning levels
- Monitor receipt and review cycle for vendor documents and identify any problem areas
- Attend Procurement status meetings
- Assist with the development of Design Change Notices Assist with the development of, and approval of, Engineering Queries

**Who we are looking for**:

- University degree in a relevant discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or equivalent certification is preferred
- Extensive experience including project management experience, mastering their area and knowledge about impacts on other areas
- Strong technical skills as relevant to the project scope(s)
- Good level of experience in the related field, industry, and locations of the work
- Proven project management experience as well as a good understanding of business issues
- In-depth understanding of project goals, drivers and strategies
- Proven track record of effectively managing complex projects
- Knowledge of workflow management, established policies for engineering ownership, globalization of projects and request for tender process
- Detailed knowledge and experience of stakeholder and requirements management
- Knowledgeable about how multi-phase project budgets, including risk contingencies, are assembled
- Skilled Practitioner in Risk Management processes, well versed in how risks are transposed into cost, time and contingency estimates and forecasts
- Advanced knowledge of various forms of contracts across many types of goods and services.
- Able to create new appropriate contracting frameworks and negotiate to a successful conclusion
- Able to manage project start-up, produce and communicate the project execution plan
- Knowledge of project performance improvement activities and how to implement them in projects
