Support Worker Job Description

Part time / full time Support worker, younger adults

Stourbridge / Wordsley area.

We are looking for 2 support workers, to support young person who is keen on a range of sporting activities, including Kayaking and attending the Gym. He will be moving from his current residential service to a more independent living setting, which is where you come in

You will be required to work flexibly to support his needs. For the initial 4-6 weeks this will be on a part time basis, but there will be the opportunity to work full time after that, if thats what yiu want.

He would require you to support him to get to his work placement in the morning and accompany him home later in the day, support to the local Gym, Canoe club and other activities in the local community.

You will also provide support to ensure that all aspects of independent living are maintained once he moves to his own home, this will include meal planning, shopping and preparation, support with prompting medication and maintaining his home.

We will require that you have good verbal communication skills, and you’ll need a full driver’s license so that you can use his car to help him get around.

You will start to get to know each other, having 10 hours per week to accompany him to his activities and those hours will increase once he moves into his new home, which is also in the same area.

He would really like to be supported by younger male staff that have the enthusiasm and energy to keep up with his active lifestyle, so if that’s you, we and he wants to hear from you now.

Subject to DBS check and satisfactory references.

Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
